BRN Supports Maureen’s Haven Homeless Outreach

On a beautiful September 23rd morning, members of BRN met on the scenic Holiday Beach in Center Moriches for their first in-person meeting in months to share in fellowship, in thanks, and to give back to their community. Donations of food, clothing, and supplies were brought to the meeting by the members and taken afterwards by Jim Stumpf to Maureen’s Haven in Riverhead, where they were received by Executive Director Daniel O’Shea and a grateful staff.

Maureen’s Haven Homeless Outreach provides safe, warm, temporary shelter to homeless individuals on the East End of Long Island, from November through March, utilizing volunteer houses of worship and congregation volunteers. Guests can also come to their Day Center in Riverhead for a meal, obtain clean clothing, and receive individual assistance through case management, professional counseling, or other support services. They are always in need of many basic items and the members of BRN overwhelmingly agreed that they were a worthwhile cause for us to support.

Thanks to all who donated time and items!
